The road less traveled; Let God lead you.

“The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Lately, I've been hearing people discussing their desire to move out of state. A late dinner and heavy discussion with a girlfriend as her spirit and mind is complex with the thought of moving out of state.

She’s such a sweetheart and Christian, so she doesn’t mind me sharing a little of our discussion. As we enjoyed our cheesecake and tea, I noticed her demeanor wasn’t the same cheerful, happy person. Asking what the problem was, she looked at me and expressed her concerns. She said “Marti, I want the road less traveled”. As I laughed at this statement, tears began to stream down her face. I knew she was serious. She expressed how her spirit was sad and how she desired more fulfillment of life.
“Living here is just not satisfying anymore”. “I want to feel free, with plenty of sun and space”. “I just want something new”.

Hugging it out would not be enough to console her. She needed an immediate resolve. No one should feel displaced in their spirit and mind. She disclosed several states she would love to move to and why. We prayed and the discussion continued.

Are you struggling with the same decision and dispositions. Displacement of the heart can be torture. Take control of those feelings and look to God for the answer. You are not alone. A decision this heavy or any decision doesn’t have to be yours alone. Live your life to the fullest.

“Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

If you allow God to lead you, the pressure will subside. It will then becomes a matter of a choice. You remove the worry of feeling like you’re stuck. When we are surrendered to the will of God we are no longer stuck or trapped. He is the strong tower we run into and are made safe. We are made whole and alive in Christ. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

I encourage you to talk out this road less traveled feelings at the feet of Jesus. You can be honest with God. He already knows your frustration. His love for you is pure and abundant, his only agenda for you is happiness.

Release the frustration, pray, and prepare. If you really feel your spirit is pulling you to another state, make sure it is the plan of God and not just your emotions. If you are meant to be where you are and contentment has left, ask God to give you back the zeal to love where you are now. The last thing you want to do is move out of the will of God.

Do not move from emotional displacement to a desert state of mind just because you are experiencing a hard test or trial. Life will take its course. You have to get through it with God as your leader. He will guide you to peace and happiness. We have to be patient in all things. “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews‬ ‭10:36‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

Life by any means is easy with everything given to you. No! We all have to work hard for whatever we want. Maintaining that success is even harder. However, life is beautiful. Keeping your faith in Christ and knowing he will answer you is important. Let God lead you to your home or land. We have to learn to be content where we are and fulfill that assignment in that season. The more we fight against the current assignment we breaks our own spirit and the pain increases. “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” Proverbs‬ ‭17:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

Research the state of your desired home. Ask yourself why you want to live there. Is God there and what will you do for the Lord? Can you survive there? Research the laws, housing, and employment. This information is very important. Take the information, pray over it, present it to God, and trust God for guidance.

If God sent and guided Abraham to his home land, surely he has not forgotten you. You have to ask God to place you where he can use as his vessel and build you up for his purpose. There is no need to allow anger, panic, discomfort, and fear to fill your spirit. Remove yourself out of the box you are placing yourself in.
