Beauty for Ashes; When Distractions Come

“And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in safety, quietly at home. They will be at rest.”

‭‭Isaiah ‭32:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
You know you are moving according to God’s plan when distractions begin to enter your life left and right. This is the time you press harder in the Word of God. This is the time you pray more. This is the time you fast and get quiet before the Lord to receive directions to guard yourself. This week was long and a little stressful. I had three people from my past reach out to me. Surprised! Jesus cover me, is what I immediately prayed. Thank God for voice mail! I immediately blocked their numbers. You see it wasn’t about being cruel or revenge. This was to guard my heart. Those individuals were and are no good for me. God has been working in my life. Satan knows when God is elevating you to your next level. He will use anything or anyone to stop you. Satan wants to come between my relationship with Jesus. Well, in his mind, what better way than to try and tempt me with my past. Absolutely Not!

Do not allow your past to come back and haunt you. If you are feeling pressure to retreat back to your past or receiving calls from your past, I encourage you to ignore and block it. When your past calls it is a sure trap. Stay in your peace. Satan wants to steal peace, joy, and happiness from you. He see the fruits in your life. Be honest and transparent with yourself.

In those weak moments, remember the pain, tears, stress, drama, trauma, misery, and loneliness you felt with those people or during those circumstances. They didn’t care about you or have your best interest at that time and they still don’t. Do not be fooled! Yes, people can change. However, I’m a firm believer of not looking backwards, but keep moving forward. If they have changed, great! Let them progress with someone else. You do not need to know anything about them, their progress, or be apart of it. To God be the glory for all positive transitions.

However, God has resolved those old matters for you. He has healed you. He has renewed you. Do not touch old wounds only to end up injuring yourself again. My mother use to say, when people show you who they are believe them. GUARD YOUR HEART!
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Just as God said there is nothing new under the sun, there is nothing new your past can tell or give you. You do not have to entertain your past. If someone from your past approaches you, remain in the fruit of God’s spirit. Tell them God bless you and keep walking. You do not have to hold a conversation with them. You’re pass that stage now. Be strong in the Lord. Know that you are protected by God. Do not allow people to play on your emotions. You know who is not good for you. We must use wisdom and discernment. Do not take a risk in jeopardizing your relationship with Christ for people who once almost brought death to you.

They were for a season and a reason. People do not always come into our life as a blessing, but as a lesson. Sometimes these lessons are to make us stronger. Learn from the lessons and keep moving. “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1 NLT‬‬
All the pain you endured will return blessings to you (God will give you Beauty for Ashes). “Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. “For I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them.” Isaiah‬ ‭61:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Yes! God is on our side
God does not show us his entire plan for our life at once. This is why we trust in him. We trust His Word, because through it, he has proven his love and ability. God proves daily he wants nothing but, the best for us. Do not settle for less when God promised you abundance. Our Heavenly Father owns cattle on a thousand hills. You do not see to seek comfort in uncompromising distractions.
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Your enemies cannot hurt you. God saw all the tears and sorrow you suffered. As I stated earlier, he tracks our pain. Therefore, we do not have to continue to hold onto our past. Let it Go! This is the time of your reward and harvest. Press forward for victory is yours.
